Lordosis – is an exaggerated lumbar curve ( commonly know as sway back)
Some of the most common causes of Lordosis are:
The pelvis is tilted forward causing the lumbar curve to be visibly greater
than normal. Because of the over tilted pelvis this may cause low back pain and
pelvic pain. If the pelvis is tilted to the point of nerve compression this may
cause pain, numbness and/or tingling down one or both of the legs.
Muscles involved:
Massage can relieve the painful muscle spasms in the low back and abdomen area. Massage is also indicated for the posterior leg muscles. With regular massage therapy treatment on the affected areas massage may restore a normal posture, increased range of motion in the lumbar region and improve circulation.
